With over 40 years of experience in playing and singing, Bernad Crump is a veteran in the game when it comes the genres of Blues, Jazz, R&B and Gospel. Showing a strong musicianship since the age of 7, he started his career at the age of 17 playing with the legendary gospel group: The Pilgrim Jubiless. Other artists he's played with include James Brown, Albertina Walker, Fantasia Barrino, Willie Clayton, just to name a few.
Crump founded the Musicians Network Mecca, a program aimed at mentoring and continuing the education of young musicians and the economic empowerment of other talented musical artists in the Chicagoland area. Come enjoy the seventh installment of the Brown Derby Jazz Series. |

12th Annual Bronzeville Jazz-Music Festival. The festival uses the power of music to end gun violence in throughout the community. The Kids' Corner opens at 10:AM where families can come to get essential items needed: clothes, books and etc while the festival begins at 12:PM showcasing our musical lineup with artist from the Bronzeville community and from the Brown Derby Jazz Series. The captivating styles of vocal trio NaDiMa: Nanette Frank, Diane Madison, and Mae Koen. After singing background for musical greats like Aretha Franklin, Vesta Williams, Otis Clay, Miki Howard, Linda Dixon, (just to name a few) the trio stepped out from the background to step into the spotlight to make a name of their own. Vocal ranges cover the styles of R&B, pop, and jazz.

The best way to describe Bruce Henry is a "man of great musical imagination". Known internationally as a vocalist, composer, storyteller, recording artist and educator, he is a man of great musical knowledge. He teaches musical history, traditions and culture while he serenades the audience with his vocal range. Either at the top or bottom of his range, with a note or chord, Bruce Henry never ceases to amaze the crowd.
